The original brief was to redesign an island border in the middle of an immaculate lawn. Thanks to open-minded owners, I eventually had a chance to redesign the whole garden. The outlines are formal and geometric, mirroring the shape of the house. Within the formal layout and closely trimmed hedges are wild and prolific plantings, resembling a meadow. I love this contrast of order and disorder, of austere and abundant. And it’s a joy to see the garden changing during the seasons and evolving over the time.
