A tiny garden in front of a terrace house needed to accommodate a lot – pleasant views and microclimate, some privacy in the garden and the patio, a pleasant stroll around the garden, seating, an outdoor shower and some water and shelter for bees, bugs and birds. To fit everything in, the owners agreed to do without a lawn. We have created a small Amelanchier grove underplanted with a mixture of perennials and grasses mulched with gravel. The path is made of the same material and blends in beautifully. A small water feature from corten steel provides lovely reflections of plants and the sky.
